Creating good creates happiness

Are you aware when you’re happy?

It shouldn't require a big philosophical discussion to know if you’re happy or not. In fact, years ago I met the French homeopath Dr. Christian Almayrac in Lake Arrowhead. He  called himself Dr. Happiness and his basic premise was “Enjoying my happiness is the most important thing for me and for everybody else.” He’d constantly ask himself, “Am I happiest thinking ……….?” If the answer wasn’t an immediate yes, it was a no. And if the answer was

no, then what would make him happy? Pretty simple.

Of course, a benefit of Christian’s work is that thoughts have a magical quality that turns them into experiences or things. (It’s really not magic. It’s quantum physics.)

Another benefit of his work is that one gets to immediately see if something making one happy or not. Kind of happy just doesn’t cut it.

And if it doesn’t make you happy, what does? Then think about that to jostle the magic energy of the thought.

And a last benefit of Christian’s work is he tacitly underscores the importance of creating happiness for everyone involved. In fact, I bring this up when I consult with people buying or selling a home. Say you’re buying a home. You want to feel you’ve gotten a good price and deal on your new home. At the same time, would it make you happy to screw the seller? Of course not. That shows a lack of imagination. You want the seller to get what he needs to also feel he’s gotten a good deal out of the sale.

Now here’s the thing: You don’t have to know how to make the seller happy. All you have to do is have the intent that the seller feels happy. Then relax, and sees what shows up. I’m sure it’ll surprise you!

And that’s what I mean by creating happiness for you and others creates happiness in and of itself. The mere act of creating good creates happiness. So think about it!

In my opinion happiness is measured through the deeds we make. If we do good for the sake of others you will feel a genuine happiness. If you do good things for the sake of your betterment that would be a selfish happiness because you just consider doing good to make you look good. It's like not being real. If you want to be genuinely happy doing good things without asking anything in return is the best path toward happiness.

I very much agree that doing good deeds adds to my happiness, as well as to others. An important deed I practice is visualizing and thinking thoughts that create happiness for others. Because I can't know what they actualy need to feel and be happy, I have to leave that to the wonders of the universe. My practice is to hold the thought that they're happy and loved, and then I get out of the way for the Universe to do its magic. They don't even know I'm doing it. Experience has taught me this is very helpful. Experience has also taught me that if I act in a loving way, but I don't also hold loving thoughts for a good outcome, I'm being counterproductive. I like to say, "Thinking the right thoughts takes the work out of doing." Have a great day, and thank you for your thoughts!
