Before reading the next paragraphs, get yourself in the mood for what I’m about to say. Ask yourself: When was the last time something magical, serendipitous, or outright lucky happened to you? It can be a big or small event Finding something you’d lost. Reading an article that was perfect in that moment. Meeting a stranger who provided you a message of some sort. Money was found. A debt was lost. A friend called from out of the blue. You won something. You didn't lose something. Anything. Don’t read on until you’ve thought of something.
Okay. Here’s what I have to tell you about that event:
You created it. Some part of you wanted it to happen, and it thought about it a lot. In fact this part of you thought about it enough for the thought’s energy to transform into an actual event that you experienced. That’s the magic of your thoughts. (Actually, it’s not magic. It’s quantum physics, but enough on that!)
Discerning person that you are, you’re probably wondering if that means bad or uncomfortable things that happen to you occur because some part of you wanted it to happen. Well kind of. It’s more like some part of you expects these things to happen, and therefore that part thinks about it a lot, while you’re thinking about all kinds of other things. And because it thinks about these expectations a lot, it inadvertently creates them by the fact that thoughts become things. (It’s that magical quantum physics again.) Figuring this out was one of the hugest turning points in my life, and I hope what I learned will help you in your future. You see, my childhood was one of those where you wonder, “Where were the authorities?” I was adopted because my birthmother tried to drown me. I was sexually abused for about thirteen years of my early life. All these things naturally traumatized me and created obstacles for me as an adult. I had all kinds of voices lurking in my abyss that were expecting all kinds of negative experiences, which they inadvertently created because they thought them. I needed to get those voices to expect something else, so they’d think about something else. And I figured out how. And when I did, I tried it out on all the areas of my life. And then I got a group of ladies together every Wednesday night (the Gaian Sisterhood) and tried it out on their lives. I cannot believe how my life turned around and I’m wowed by how theirs changed too. I hope you’ll read about this process in my book The Happiness Path. I wrote it for you and others like you who want to use your magic for good. You want to be happy, and you want those in your life to be happy. Get yours at Amazon or Nook.
"If, as Carolyn Myss posits, biography is biology, feeding our cells positive mental experiences can be as healing as having the actual positive experience itself. The method that Joanne developed is called "processing". Anyone can learn it with a very little practice. Most of us try it out on the molehills in our lives, only to discover that it levels the mountains just as easily. For a world that hasn't the time or luxury of a lifetime of psychoanalysis, this is a hands on tool for personal insight and change."
