8 tools I use to create good amid frustration and chaos

Sometimes life overloads me. There’s too much going on, or there’s crazy energy disrupting the peace. You know what I mean?
Those times are just ripe for escalation. When there’s too much going on, mistakes get made, which means even more stuff is going on. Or, when crazy energy’s disrupting the peace, it’s so easy to go into our corners or be reactive. Either way, we’re creating even more crazy, disruptive energy.
So what are we to do?

For me, I have six things I turn to in these times. Sometimes I just need one of them, but often I need several. Here they are, in no particular order.
1. The magic snap
I snap my fingers and decide what I want to create instead. This is a band-aid for what’s really going on, but sometimes I don’t have the time or the desire to stop what I’m doing to figure out what subconscious thoughts are creating my present situation. By merely announcing my intention with a snap of my fingers, I at least set in motion an energy change.
2. Little rituals
Little rituals have huge powers because, as above, their intention instigates an energy change. A powerful little ritual I sometimes use is writing the issue or problem down on a piece of paper, folding it up, and placing it in an ash tray or the fireplace hearth. I then announce to the universe (including angels, guides, and whatever else is out there) that I’m giving it back this issue, and that I want to be free of it. Again, this is a band-aid that temporarily changes the energy of the problem. Eventually it will reappear in other ways, so my next tool is my book, because . . . .
3. The Happiness Path
This book is all business. It shows you why your energy becomes what you experience, and then it takes you on a step-by-step journey to discover what past experiences incite your current experiences. As I like to say, “When you change your past, you change your future.” I’m so glad I wrote this book, because it has been a life saver for me. When I lose things, I now know where that comes from, and I change it. When I’m overwhelmed by personalities or burdens or worry, I also know where that comes from so I can change it. The Happiness Path is available at Amazon and Nook.
4. Music
Have on hand music that transports you and makes you feel greater than normal. I get this from listening to New Age music, pan pipes (love Carlos Nakai), and good old classical music and opera. Music like this gets wrangles me out of my pity party and reminds me I’m bigger than my ego’s currently allowing me to feel. You might get your kick from rock and roll or rap, or, who knows, the polka! Just figure out what works for you.
5. Amulets or fetish objects
Fetish objects, by definition, carry power that you imbue it with. When athletes wear the same pair of winning socks, they’re wearing a fetish object. I value having fetish objects around because they remind me what I know at a very primordial level. For example, I have talismans available around the house and in my purse for when I need to remember my power or my intuition or my magic. Try it yourself. Maybe it’s a single bead you carry on your key ring. Maybe it’s something you wear around your neck. Whatever it is, it should be of your own choosing, and not someone else’s.
6. Journal
Journals are so important because they give you a place to vent, to ask questions, to hope, and to discover. Journals are a place where you can write without your English teacher ever looking over your shoulder. Journals are even a place where you can access your intuition by writing with your non-dominant hand. Ask a question and then write down the answer with your “wrong” hand. It’s amazing how right it is!
7. Feng Shui
The biggest reason I love feng shui is because it’s about setting intentions. If you want more abundance, romance, health, knowledge, etc., in your life, feng shui asks you to back up your intention with action. Get rid of the junk in your life. Move objects around. Eliminate or add objects, colors, or shapes that signify the intention you’re trying to create. If you’d like some easy to use, reliable, and well-thought-out books on feng shui, check out these books by Terah Katheryn Collins.
8. Scents
Incense and aromatherapy are wonderful ways to alter your mood, and therefore what you’re creating.
