10 things you can visualize to improve your life

1.    If you’re putting off doing a dreary chore, decide how much time it will take you, see the clock in your mind, and see the finished task in your mind. Feel it! Then get to work and get it off your shoulders.

2.    If you’re going to a party or meeting, and you’re worried about people not accepting you, visualize their faces greeting you with big smiles and/or understanding faces. See them lean in toward you because of their interest in you. Visualize yourself so full of light, people can’t take their eyes off you.

    You’re in traffic, and you’re worried about being late or feeling trapped. Visualize yourself getting to your destination on time, which could mean that everyone else is later than you. Visualize traffic moving steadily in front of you, perhaps not at rocket speed at first, but traffic flows. Keep seeing that, while also keeping your eyes on the road. You’re smart. You can deal with two realities.

4.    You’re worried about your child’s progress in school Visualize his teacher calling and telling you wonderful things about him. Visualize seeing your child’s progressing work. See what it is that will make you happy.it.

5.    You’re in sales, and you want to make a winning sales pitch. Visualize hearing and sensing what the buyer needs and wants and see yourself giving him the responses that will encourage him to make the purchase. In your mind, see him smiling because he’s truly happy he’s made the purchase. And in your mind see yourself opening the check that is the result of your good salesmanship.

6.    A few days before you have to take a test, imagine yourself sitting down to take the test and knowing all the answers. Your mind remembers what’s needed. You’ve studied the material well enough that you’ve internalized it, and therefore really do know it. See yourself having that wonderful, confident feeling of knowing what you’re being tested on. If you visualize this ahead of time it will influence your memory, your study habits, and the choices you make before the test.

7.    If you’re a little worried about your primary relationship, and want to make things right, visualize your love coming toward you with the most happy look of love on his or her face. Also imagine that your love can see the love on your face. If there are issues that must be talked through, even if it involves difficult truths, visualize the two of you calmly talking things through, coming up with a positive plan for moving forward that also pleases both of you. This won’t work optimally if you only try to please yourself.

8.    For a health issue you or someone else in your family might be having, visualize yourself or them reaching optimal health. See around you the things that helped you or them heal. Maybe it’s a book, or a therapy, or needed rest, etc. Whatever it is, see yourself having the wherewithal to for these healing agents.

9.    Money’s not flowing into your life as easily as you’d like. Imagine money and riches flowing into your home through all its possible openings, like the doors, the windows, the drains, the fireplaces, the printer, the telephone and stereo speakers. Visualize the cash and precious metals and gems literally spewing into your rooms and filling them up. Bask in the sight.

10.    If you’re dealing with weight, visualize stepping onto your scale and see it stop on your ideal weight. Again, bask in the sight. Feel the happiness course through your body. Do this frequently through the day. Let this visualization inform how and when you eat, rather than other influences like emotions and friends.

With all of these visualizations, give the energy time to do its stuff. This might mean you’re trying to create one thing, while something entirely different is happening. The trick is to be okay with what shows up without deciding that your visualization has failed. Visualize with the intention that it will be created. Then let go and allow it, like you’d do if you’d planted a seed in the ground. Just because it doesn’t burst through toward the sky in the first five minutes, it doesn’t mean it won’t. Just keep watering your intention with the water of your visualization.
